Ice Pack ECO
Ice Pack Eco
To reduce our environmental footprint, we have developed Ice Pack Eco. It combines the great performance and flexibility of Ice Pack XL with minimal use of plastic materials. The original PET-PE top layer of Ice Pack XL is replaced with Kraft paper. In this way, we reduce the use of PET by 100%.
How to use Ice Pack Eco
Ice Pack Eco works the same way as Ice Pack XL. The flat sheets need to be activated in a water bath. Depending on the number of sheets placed in the bath, activation takes between 5 and 90 minutes. When fully absorbed, remove Ice Pack Eco from the bath and place it in the freezer.
We recommend stacking the sheets in crates, up to four layers. Never place non-woven sides directly on top of each other to avoid sticking and damaging the ice packs. After freezing, Ice Pack Eco is ready to use and protect your fresh products.
Why choose Ice Pack Eco
There are multiple reasons to use Ice Pack Eco:
- Hygienic and food-safe. Suitable for direct contact with food products
- Long-lasting and evenly distributed cooling surface
- Compact and space-efficient to store when not activated
- Flexible, even when frozen, allowing it to wrap around products of any shape
- Cooling up to 48 hours in a well-insulated box
Applications
Ice Pack Eco can be used for any shipment that needs to be cooled between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius. Ice Pack Eco is mainly used for:
- Seafood: Cooling fresh seafood for airfreight shipments or e-commerce home deliveries
- Meat: Online butchers use Ice Pack Eco to cool freshly packed meat for parcel shipments
- Fruit and Vegetables: Cooling fruit and vegetables during shipments without active temperature control in the truck
- Flowers: Shipping flowers by airfreight. Ice Pack Eco cools and controls humidity inside the box due to the super-absorbent polymer used in the ice pack. Results are excellent compared to standard gelpacks.
